Seventeen crews, including 11 contract crews, are in the field working to get the power back on. All told, about 250 EWEB staff are solely dedicated to working on the emergency. Even though the ice has melted and EWEB has restored power for tens of thousands of customers, weakened tree limbs are still falling and causing additional outages.
Crews are on-site along Highway 126 east of Thurston where there are a number of power poles down, and two transmission lines are down in other parts of the system.
