I died eventually from a horde lol The infection notice you get on the health screen, and the knox virus are two different things. Infection notice is just the regular wound infection you can get if the wound is not treated appropriately. "Bite" is a type of wound, if you have all infection settings off then you won't be infected with the Zombie virus. There is a difference between Zombie infection and normal wound infection though. If you have no infection enabled then a bite will still cause a bad wound and may show as "Infected" but you won't actually turn into a zombie.Just to add a bit of information here, There are two kinds of infection in the game; Wound Infection, and Zombie Infection, and the two have no relation to one another beyond being caused by injuries. You can get zombie infected without a wound becoming infected, and you can get a wound infection without getting the zombie infection. The zombie infection is different to a wound infection. It won't say you're infected on the health panel but after a few days you'll get queesy and then you'll get hungry and eventually your health will just start to go down until you die. You cant tell the two apart on the menu itself, but you CAN'T be infected without a bite, scratch, or laceration from a zombie. So while there's no direct indication on the menu, you can figure it out with context. Heavier items will provide more but can cause you to over heat.
