Padding leads to instability on trails and it kills my feet. But HOKAs are a very highly popular shoe a lot of people spend a lot of money on (most of their models are $160-$180). Same with Asics and Brooks. Asics are great shoes but the heel to toe drop is too high. Brooks give me injuries.

Boston 10 or adistar for easy days probably. Adios 6 is nice but sounds like you don’t need it. Sen 7 for speed work, if you can find it. Adios Pro 2 is a great marathon shoe. So if you're okay with that I'd say try them. If not I'd personally go for something with a lower stackheight. Novablast are horrible so are the Infinity Runs. Although the only high stack shoe that works of for me are the Endorphin Shift due to the really strong heel reinforcement and short runs with the Triumphs are fine too. Just find something that's normal (25mm +-) and firm since the treadmill is already soft. I'd personally take the New Balance More v3 or 1080, Saucony Triumph, Nike Invincible, etc. over the Hoka Bondi if I was buying a recovery shoe for myself. Brooks is interesting because it's the first brand that - while still offering different degree of stability in their shoes - went away from the traditional way of classyfing their running shoes. But for regular running shoes I would either reccomend Asics Nimbus, Asics Keyano, or Brooke's ghost 10. Saucony Is also a renowned brand. For example, shoes that didn't work for me (even in wide sizes) were Nike, Hoka, Altra and Saucony (Triumph 18 in EE). If you have a wider mid-foot I would suggest the New Balance 880v11 over the 1080v10 (or v11). I ordered both in 4E and while the toe boxes were plenty roomy, the mid foot on the 880 felt better.2.
